Veteren’s Day: MCSD will be closed on November 11th in observance of Veteran's Day. Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans - living or dead, but especially recognizes living veterans who served honorably during war or peacetime. MCSD estará cerrado el 11 de noviembre en observancia del Día de los Veteranos. Day of the Dead The Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos), is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year from October 31-November 2. Día de los Muertos Esta festividad mexicana consiste en que las familias dan la bienvenida a las almas de sus parientes fallecidos en una breve reunión en la que se ofrece comida, bebida y celebración. Esta festividad, que mezcla rituales mesoamericanos, religión europea y cultura española, se celebra del 31 de octubre al 2 de noviembre cada año.

We are excited to be offering Free GED prep classes in Spanish Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-6 at RHS. These sessions are available to Spanish speaking youth 16-21 and their parents. Important Update on Student Safety at Irrigon Junior-Senior High School: We want to inform you of a safety report that we received Sunday night at approximately 10:20pm. Irrigon Junior/Senior High School administration received a call from the Morrow County Sheriff’s office about their investigation of a social media post that a student was potentially planning to bring a firearm to school. Due to the quick and thorough response by the Sheriff’s Office the student was identified. Out of an abundance of caution, there will be increased Morrow County Sheriff’s deputy presence on Monday in Irrigon to ensure the safety of all students and staff throughout the school day. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of every student at Irrigon Junior/Senior High School and all schools of Morrow County School district. We appreciate the quick and thorough response of the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office. This serves as an important reminder to all of us that if you see or hear something that could pose a safety risk, it is critical to speak up. Your vigilance helps keep our schools safe. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe.
