Morrow County Schools, in partnership with families and communities, provide each student the opportunity to develop values, knowledge, skills and self confidence to become life-long learners and responsible citizens.
The belief of the Morrow Education Center (MEC) is that ALL students can learn. MEC works hard to provide an educational experience that addresses each students specific needs and interests - whether it be within MEC itself using our online Acellus credit recovery program, school at home, or our General Education Development (GED) program. Every student is unique and comes to us for a multitude of reasons The ultimate goal of MEC is to work in partnership with families to determine the best educational plan for their student culminating in a high school diploma or GED.
It is time to register for the 2017-2018 school year! To officially register your student, please stop by the Morrow Education Center on our scheduled registration dates of August 24th from 8-3 or August 25th from 8-12. As you may know, we have adopted a new student information system called Tyler SIS, and this year Online Registration is available from your student’s school(s). You will be easily guided through this user-friendly step-by-step system to update your previous information and/or register a new student(s). An email address will be required. If you do not have one we will work with you in creating a Google Gmail account. We are excited about this new technology and can’t wait to show you! If you prefer to register your student via paper/pencil, paper forms will be available at the school. Just a reminder, for every student to be officially enrolled for the upcoming school year documents must be updated and completed annually. Looking forward to seeing you at registration!
Morrow County and Ione School Districts strongly encourage you to schedule an adolescent well care exam appointment (which includes an evaluation for OSAA sport/activity participation) beginning June 1, and throughout the summer months to be prepared for the fall school year.
The Morrow County School District is proud to announce its new Online School-At-Home program available to all students in MCSD. Families may choose from one the many pre-approved curriculums. The district offers a combination of at-home classes and elective classes on campus, providing a good fit for some students.
Informational meetings are scheduled to explain the program: Heppner – Monday, June 5 Irrigon – Wednesday June 7 Boardman – Thursday, June 8
When the Morrow County School District established its 2016-17 school year calendar, administrators built in extra days to allow for potential snow days. Due to extreme inclement weather conditions this winter, schools in Boardman and Irrigon have been closed for 7 days and Heppner schools were closed for 5 days. To compensate for this lost instructional time for students, the MCSD will now be implementing the following adjustments to the 2016-17 calendar:
Boardman and Irrigon Schools:
Boardman and Irrigon schools will make upfour of the missed student contact days due to inclement weather closures.
April 7, 14, 28, and May 12 are now designated as “Snow/Inclement Weather” make-up days for Boardman and Irrigon Schools.
In the event of another snow day; the dates listed above will not change.
